MDN İstanbul

In an exclusive interview with MarineDeal News, Tuzcuoglu said: “Our yard offers a wide range of products. It has deli-vered many vessels from cargo ships to tug boats, from open sea service vessels to fishing vessels and ferries.”
Tuzcuoglu said the first turnkey ferry made in Turkey for a Norwegian owner was delivered by Sefine. “And the ferries that we had previously built for Gestas, which are our own design, are currently in service in the Dardanelles.”
He noted that Sefine is known around the world for its ferries. “Our shipyard has been selected as one of the yards on the references list of BC Ferries, the largest ferry operator of Canada. Only five out of 20 yards have been selected, after a lengthy consideration process.”
When repairing vessels, the yard makes it a priority to ensure that costs do not exceed the estimated value. “Service quality and customer satisfaction are priority areas for us. We can act flexibly and be competitive in the field of ship conversion mainly because our repair and newbuild teams support each other. Thanks to this quality, we are one of the few yards that can perform rig maintenance in the sector.”
Turkey offers the best
prices in Europe’

Tuzcuoglu noted that Sefine concentrates on ferries and open sea service ships. They also work on the conversion of livestock careers.
“We can give the optimal price for the quality required in vessels if you compare Turkey to countries such as Spain and Poland. Turkey is in a good state in terms of repair and maintenance work, but needs to make use of this advantage.”
Turkish yards should work to increase productivity to be able to survive in the industry in the long haul and to increase profits. “Yards of a certain scale in Turkey are making some efforts in this direction. The job of increasing productivity should be long term, and it should be carried out by professionals. Instead of each yard working on its own, a joint delegation should be set up, experts should be called and programs that offer gradual improvement should be introduced.”
Tuzcuoglu further noted that Turkey should urgently renew its coaster fleet.
