ZPMC & ZPMC Mediterranean Turkey accomplish the ERTG conversion of 8 Kalmar RTG

The Turkish Port operator Kumport’s eight Kalmar diesel powered rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) were successfully converted by a joint team of ZPMC and ZPMC Mediterranean Turkey to ERTG.
The diesel RTGs consume a great deal of power and consequently are the major source of emissions of CO2. With rising concerns of environment and gradual increase of diesel prices the conversion are becoming a necessity rather than a mere engineering fantasy. As one of the pioneer applications in Turkey, the conversion is expected to increase efficiency and productivity of Kumport , while simultaneously reducing emissions and fostering a sustainable future.

The Kumport  ERTG conversion project was ambitious in time scope as it is planned to finish each RTG conversion in 4 days. ZPMC and ZPMC Med teams worked successfully in this race against time and The joint team managed to improve the already ambitious deadline by completing each conversion in 2 days at the end of the project with all adjustments and handover were completed without the blocking Kumport’s daily operation.

Now the Kalmar RTGs renewed with ZPMC ERTG technology are working with higher performance under the assistance of ZPMC Mediterranean Turkey.
